Power comes from Toyota's legendary 3L engine — a 2.8-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated, mechanically-injected diesel famous across Australia and Japan for bulletproof simplicity. There's no turbo to fail, no common-rail electronics to fault, no DPF to clog. It's a proper pre-electronic workhorse — the kind of engine bush mechanics keep running on a wing and a prayer, and the kind that just won't quit. Paired with the smooth 4-speed automatic transmission and 2WD layout, it returns a real-world 10.5–12.5 L/100km combined, with around 560–670 km of range from the 70-litre tank. The camper conversion is properly thought-out for serious travel.
